The region’s agriculture embraces 14 agricultural production cooperatives, three production unitary companies, the Miory regional agricultural service and 17 farms. Agricultural lands make up 60 thousand hectares.

Cattle-breeding companies specialize in producing milk and meat, growing grain, rape, flax, potato, fodder crops.

In line with the regional village revival programme for 2005-2010 the region built five agro-towns: Turkovo, Tsvetino, Nikolaevo, Cheressy and Chepuki.
