Holy Assumption Roman Catholic Church
Kirova Street, Miory, Vitebsk Oblast
Built in 1905-1907, on the site of an old ruined church, the temple boasts a lot of sculptures and icons dating back to the 19th century. A monument to an unborn baby was unveiled at the church in 1991. A monument to Pope John Paul II was also erected near the church.

Built in 1991 using charitable donations of the parish with active support of Archpriest Nikolai Rundo, the church is a fine specimen of the Russian Revival style.
Disna, Belarus' smallest town

Disna is home to a big number of architectural and historical monuments. Among them is the Church of Immaculate Conception (1773), the Church of the Resurrection (1870), the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God Hodegetria (early 20th century). The town is also known for its castle island, a centenary bridge, remains of a hospital (1901-1903), a fire tower, Disna Gymnasium (1921), a rabbi's house, a synagogue, a mass grave of 3,800 Jewish civilians killed by the Nazis in 1942, the Arts and Crafts Center, the Disna History Museum, old surviving block roads, and also a ferry traveling along the Western Dvina.
Waterfall on Vyata River

Unique creation of man and nature. For many years the waterfall powered a local electricity plant that provided electric power to near-by villages and the town of Miory. However, time and changes in natural environment took their toll and were the reason why the plant crumbled in the 1960s.

The walls built of bricks and stones hewn by local craftsmen amaze by their strength. An arch gallery attached to the tower adds greatness to the temple. The combination of masonry and white bricks makes the building more expressive. There are no other monuments like this in Belarus.

Built by Evgeny Milosz in memory of his beloved wife, it is a specimen of Late Classicism architecture. It was used as a family vault.
